Church on Main, located at 44 West Main Street in Middletown (directly across the street from the Evertt Theatre) is sponsoring a series of music concerts in 2019. The first concert will be held on Thursday, January 17 at 7:30PM. If you like country, blue grass, western and rock’n’roll, you will love the High & Wides. This four-member musical group that calls Chestertown, MD home blends a guitar, banjo, fiddle and base to produce “hillbilly rock’n’roll.”
The concert is free, but donations will be accepted to benefit Our Daily Bread and Friendship House. These two non-profit organizations serve people in need of a helping hand.
A February concert is scheduled to take place on Thursday, February 21. It will feature the sound of Sombarkin, the voices of Karen Somerville, Lester Barrett, Jr. and Jerome McKinney. This trio blends blues, jazz, gospel and folk songs and will transform Church on Main with its special sounds. Please plan to attend the February concert which will begin at 7:30. Again, the concert is free with donations accepted to benefit local charities.
Ignite funds are provided by the New Castle Presbytery (i.e., a group of 51 Presbyterian churches in Delaware and the Maryland eastern shore). The funds are to be used for new congregations and congregations that want to build partnerships with non-profit agencies in their communities.
